MAMA JOSIE

written by: g.e. moore

published by: Nightmare Press

MAMA JOSIE, spinning off from g.e. moore’s critically acclaimed debut novel, BEALZ: PRINCE OF THE SOUTHSIDE, is a fast-paced, pulpy adventure filled with mystery and magic.

What is life like for those trapped in the town of Decatur, Illinois, sealed off behind an impenetrable magical barrier, a Dome of Protection erected to keep the horrors set loose on its streets from terrorizing the rest of the world?

Mama Josie, a century old witch, settled up North following the Great Migration, surrounded by a Pillar of Night, is the new law beneath the Dome, and along with her newly appointed Sheriff, the former drug-dealing hustler, Peter Paul, she is determined to keep the peace.

BEALZ: PRINCE OF THE SOUTHSIDE

written by: g.e. moore

published by: Nightmare Press

BEALZ: PRINCE OF THE SOUTHSIDE, crossing over into the fantastic world of the Incata, powerfully and memorably introduces its main protagonists; Bealz, a twelve year old prodigy born and raised on Chicago's hardscrabble Southside streets, heir to a mythical kingdom across the sky; his mother, Monique, a mystery woman cursed to forget, burdened with a worlds-shattering secret; and his father, Askauri bin Askai, the Wayward Prince, hailing from another world, serving out a life sentence in an Illinois Department of Corrections Prison.

These three, in an effort to reunite their family, will soon enough be tasked with saving both the Earth and the Incata from impending destruction.

BEALZ: PRINCE OF THE SOUTHSIDE powerfully subverts the prevalent tropes, stereotypes and negativity often woven throughout the very limited imaginative depictions forming our social narrative, all while weaving a unique mythology of its own with an entertaining and enlightening tale filled with intrigue and adventure.

g.e. moore, author of the Afrofuturist novel BEALZ: PRINCE OF THE SOUTHSHIDE and the novella, MAMA JOSIE, is an acclaimed poet and writer, having published two volumes of poetry, a sh. story collection and a children's book series. I USED TO BE A SUPERHERO is his spoken word debut album, produced by Rich Kern.

The Wayward Home For Retired Superheros and More Astonishing Tales from the Hood is an eclectic collection of Afrofuturist-inspired short stories that explores the width and depths of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and the limitless possibilities of an imagination unbound: from far flung, distant explorers to lowly maintenance men, each has a story to tell and an experience to astonish!

SONGS FOR THE CLEVELAND AVENUE WARRIORS: REALITY AND FAME, the second edition from the ongoing poetry series by g.e. moore, author of the Afrofuturist/Fantasy novel, BEALZ: PRINCE OF THE SOUTHSIDE and the Afrofuturist/Noir Thriller, MAMA JOSIE, provides poignant, authentically salient insights into the issues of racism, classism and economic oppression in the wake of a global pandemic and a rapidly shifting social and political landscape

What We Do! The Children's Book Series serves as an alternative to the negative, and often traumatic subject matter prevalent in much of the literature marketed towards Children of Color.
